Words

What hides the soul,
Freed with the kiss of the blade,
Slip, slide of jagged steel,
Sink into the clay, out again,
Gasping, rasping, sharp intake,
Blood-red tear,
Silently crying
I, ’tis…’tis I,

Madness, let me in…
Madness, with a pen…
Rivers of ink,
Words a waterfall
On the canvas of her arms…

Love kills,
Hate obliterates.
Hide behind a single eye,
Black ink on white skin
Tally marks seven,
Let me in…
Madness, when
The Dark Hatter smiles.

  1. Can’t say that I actually know what this poem is about! It came to me fully in a dream.
