Anamnesis
silk
black as night
rustling
leaves in the wind
on warm summer
nights
a soft caress
fingertips
brushing over
rosy cheeks
just a look
just a touch
silk
black as night
slipping
sands over time
through tightly clasped
hands
a love beyond
knowing
tumbling across
space and time
just a look
just a touch
silk
black as night
falling
grains upon waters
deep with emotion
eyes
caught in moonlit
waves
ebb and flow on
a distant shore
just a look
just a touch
is never enough

Just to good, well great…

Okay, I was asked to define anamnesis — it means to remember or reminisce.

This poem was written in the mid-1990s. It was a reflection of a relationship that wasn’t to the level I wanted it to be, I wanted to be closer. In this case, we lived far apart, seeing each other seldom in real life, communicating through email and phone calls daily. Fortunately, events worked out that we were able to be together and are now happily married.
